No Two Farms Are the Same, Neither Are Our Projects

A field that supports crops, pasture used by a herd, an access road or an existing easement: each is part of how a property works. Before a solar or wind project takes shape, we need to understand that full picture.

At Teal North America, we work with landowners to learn how they use their land today and what matters to them for the future. Those conversations help us assess where a project might fit, what constraints we need to account for and which questions need answering before plans move forward.

Developing renewable energy on private land takes more than finding a suitable location. It takes a plan grounded in the realities of that particular property and the people who know it best.

Your Questions About Leasing, Answered

Considering a renewable energy lease? Here are four questions landowners often ask us.

How do payments work?
The amount, timing and conditions for payments should be clearly set out in the lease. Ask how payments may differ during development, construction and operation.

Can I keep using my land?
That depends on the technology, the project layout and how you use the property today. We want to understand your crops, livestock, access needs and future plans before discussing what may fit.

How long does a project take?
Development involves studies, grid planning and approvals, so timelines vary by site. We’ll explain the proposed steps and where the project stands.

What happens when the project ends?
Decommissioning is an important part of the conversation. Landowners should understand what the agreement says about removing equipment and restoring the site.

Every property and agreement is different. At TEAL North America, we believe landowners should have the information they need to ask questions and make an informed decision.

Why Are Landowners Considering Solar and Wind Leases?

For many, it starts with a practical question: how can their land support the next generation while continuing to work for the family today?

A renewable energy lease can offer predictable income and a new way to use suitable land. It can also give landowners a direct role in building America’s domestic energy supply.

Every property and every landowner’s goals are different. That’s why a good project starts with listening, clear terms and a plan that respects the land.

What Does a Genuine Partnership With a Landowner Look Like? It Starts With Listening

Your land may be part of your livelihood, your family’s history, and your plans for the future. Any conversation about a renewable energy project should take those priorities seriously.

At Teal North America, we believe landowners deserve clear terms, room for local input, and time to ask questions. Trust is built through open conversations, not pressure to make a quick decision.

If you’re a landowner considering what renewable energy could mean for your property, we’d welcome a conversation about your goals and concerns.

Neighbors First: The Values Behind Teal North America

Before we are a developer, we are a neighbor. Every project we build starts in a community - one with its own history, its own people, and its own stake in what comes next. That is why three values sit at the centre of how we work:

Trust: We show up early, listen first, and do what we say we will do. Relationships with landowners, local officials, and communities are built long before construction starts and last long after.

Entrepreneurship: We move with the agility of a founder-led team: practical, resourceful, and willing to find a better way when the obvious one doesn't fit the site or the community.

Balance: Good energy projects work for everyone at the table - the community, the land, and the long-term goals of the region. We build with that balance in mind from day one.

These are not values we put on a slide. They are how Teal North America shows up, project after project, neighbourhood after neighborhood.

Launch of Teal North America

We are proud to officially launch Teal North America, our entity and the development company representing TEAL in the North American market. While our team has been active on the ground for some time, we are now excited to introduce our new website and LinkedIn presence, dedicated to renewable energy projects with a strategic focus on North America.

We will focus on the early-stage development of renewable energy assets, drawing on TEAL's expertise and ongoing commitment to the global energy transition. North America has been chosen as a key market due to its scale, growing demand for clean energy, and strong long-term fundamentals for renewable power deployment.

This launch marks an important milestone in TEAL's broader strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint internationally and invest in markets with strong long-term fundamentals. Through this entity, we are building a dedicated platform for close collaboration with local partners and stakeholders in the US, advancing high-quality projects that contribute to the country's decarbonization and electrification goals.
